Arc en Ciel Limited was founded in 1989 - over thirty years ago. The name is French for "rainbow" – hence our logo – and was chosen because of our determination that our solutions would be both over-arching and attractive.

Our first product converted scans of printed maps to a vector form suitable for use on a computer, and set a pattern that has been followed ever since by being highly functional and exceptional value for money.

The need to associate maps with locations led to the use of postcode information and in 1995 we launched our "Address" system for rapid addressing using the Royal Mail data.

Other address management products have followed over the years.

We are a specialist organisation with in-depth knowledge of the Royal Mail and Ordnance Survey data sets and of addressing and geo-referencing issues in the UK.
